If you feel like venturing into Photoshop, Creative Cloud does offer some good rates for single apps and often have a nice package for just Photoshop (compared to adding up apps or going for the full suite). I've heard a lot of good things about Clip Studio but have never used it myself. There's a lot of brushes mimicking traditional media though, which is fun to play with. I downloaded Procreate, and I think I'm just impatient learning with it because I end up doing big splotches of colors while playing with brushes, then settle in and use Photoshop. I've been using Photoshop for almost 20 years, so I feel the most cozy with it, so much so that I still prefer it on my iPad even though I know many people who switched to Procreate after using it.
